Sounds like your company's site was designed for Ie6, and not for the standards. Now that IE7 supports a lot more of the standards, the faulty coding is showing it's true colours.

My suggestion? Get Firefox and redo your site so it looks good in Firefox, Ie6, Ie7 and Opera...

If anyone sees your site and uses an up to date browser, the bad coding will reflect on your company.

Design for Firefox, tweak the code to work in IE. It'll save you time and aggravation.

Free, fast, a small 5mb download, Firefox blocks pop-ups and sites from secretly installing programs on your computer. It will copy over your settings from other browsers (cookies, settings, bookmarks). Firefox is powerful too, it's more up-to-date than even IE7 according to the web standards (w3.org).

The main reason I like Firefox is because it's customizable.

Why is customizability important?

Imagine being able to do 2 small things and never seeing a banner ad, flash ad or an iframe ad again? (Remember, pop-ups are already gone)
Imagine being able to pause your computer's music player when the phone rings without having to switch to it?

Firefox puts the power back in your hands!

Unfortunately, Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) is not very compliant with web standards. In other words, some websites will not load correctly in IE 7. You can read about it at:

"Internet Explorer 7 sucks on standards" -- written by downloadsquadd.com (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2006/08/08/internet-explorer-7-sucks-on-standards/)

However, I am sure you are more interested in how to fix the problem. Here is the solution, Microsoft has a support page to temporarily fix the problem (http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windows/ie/support/default.mspx)

Question:
My favorite websites don't load correctly, or don't seem to work at all in Internet Explorer 7. What should I do?

Answer:
If you encounter a site which does not recognize Internet Explorer 7, a new tool known as the User Agent String Utility has been created to help you work around the problem. The utility comes in the form of a small executable that opens an Internet Explorer 7 instance that emulates Internet Explorer 6 by sending the Internet Explorer 6 user agent string. It also provides a mechanism for you to report problem web sites to Microsoft so that we can follow up with the affected site owners. Download the tool here (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=70356).

If you continue to experience the same problem, the support page also has instructions on how to uninstall IE 7 and restore IE 6. Good luck.

If it's a real emergency, your best bet would be to call Microsoft. It may or may not be free, but they're the ones most likely to be able to help.
