Its not dangerous to have a laptop in your lap for a short period of time, but
if a laptop or other device that has radiation or can possible have high heat is in your lap for a long period of time then it can lower the sperm count and also effect you if you are trying to get a woman pregnant

hope this helps

It depends on how long is a long time. Obviously, don't have it on your lap if it's really hot. You don't want the hot heat to burn your legs (I'm thinking it can happen!). If you want, have a blanket or something of that sort under the laptop. Otherwise, I'm not sure if it is dangerous for males (or females) to have a laptop on your lap.

Only in as much as it's dangerous to sit still for a long time.

The same people who will tell you laptops and cell phones and power-lines have "bad" radiation will tell you that a magnet around your wrist will 'cure' rheumatism and that "magnetic therapy" really works. How exactly does the rheumatism know the difference between these types of EMF? It doesn't.

But you should get up and walk around!

Yes. It is.
The heat caused by the internal components of the laptop is dissipated through fans which are angled downwards and sideways.
Thus, this heat penetrates into your lap and groin region.
Prolonged exposure to this heat can cause infertility
