your teachers are morons then maybe cause they were white themselves?
If you lived in country like china or japan where the majority of people are asians and here comes white people, the white people will experience racism too.
In China, if you were to go to a fast food restaurant, they overcharge the white tourists because they are white.

The US first belonged to the Indians and then the white people took over the country. That's not right. The US is made up of all different ethnic backgrounds and this country belongs to everyone, not only white people.
Usually, people will experience racism if they are a minority in a certain situation.

I've experienced racism by my classmates and teachers when I lived in Texas. There were only few asians in my school. Kids kept making fun of me because of my eyes. They kept getting my ethnic background wrong. They thought that chinese or japanese were the only asian (I'm filipino by the way) and I'm not chinese or japanese or korean or what have you.
The teachers gave me a lowest grade on my oral report even though I did a great job because I was asian. I compared my oral report with my classmates and the white kids all got 100s or 99s and I got a 93.

When I was working, people kept asking me if I spoke spanish or if I was mexican because they judged me from my last name and some of them told me I look chinese or why did I have a mexican last name when I had chinese eyes?? Alot of filipinos have spanish last names by the way.

Now I live close to New York City and I hardly experience racism because I live in a diverse neighborhood.

Thanks for the vent.

Hi there. Black on white, or white on black racism is unacceptable, however, you might want to put things in context. Power is a major factor. If you have power (economically, financially, politically etc) and you are racist, you are more likely to cause a lot of harm and it attracts a lot of attention. There is also a historical element which cannot be ignored, blacks as a minority group in the west have been abused for many years. It is sad BUT the situation created by some bigots many years ago is actually working to the advantage of some bigots now. Sad but true.

I will say this about your teachers, they told you a load of the proverbial. Racism is racism, no matter what the colour of your skin is. Would we call apartheid racism? Yes. Would we call the attempted extermination of the European Jewry by the Nazi Party racism? Definately. In the end, if there is a problem with an individual, the problem is the with the individual, not the entire culture, or for that matter, the sub-culture.

Political Correctness. Elitist liberals are actually the biggest racists. They see blacks as children who are given a pass because they think they can't measure up to the same standards as Whites, Asians, Jews, Indians.

Also the powerful want the lower classes to be in chaos over race so that the lower middle and working classes don't sit back and take a look at what we all have in common, and demand change. Keeping race issues on the table prevents us from uniting and demanding better return for our taxes, a better standard of living.

Being born poor of any race is a much bigger handicap than being born middle class and as a minority.

Racism doesn't mean what it used to. Liberals have redefined the term to mean, "not a marxist". The goal of liberals is to destroy democracy and replace it with a marxist utopia (like marxist utopias that have murdered hundreds of millions of innocent people in russia, china, north korea, vietnam, cuba etc.) Rich, middle class white men invented democracy and used it to create the enlightened western world. So, rich, middle class, white men have to go, is the real issue. The term "racism" is just a liberal manipulation designed to fill people with self-loathing so that they don't feel empowered (to do things like spread democracy) and don't reproduce etc. It's total bullshit as clearly demonstrated by the fact that the vast majority of hate speech and race related violence is actually directed towards whites....especially by blacks (who are waaaaaay over represented in violent crime and all other crime).

Real racism is done by two groups in this country. Blacks and illegal immigrants. Statistics show that almost all hate crime (not to mention all other violent crime) is done by these two groups. If racism was a real issue instead of a manipulation, efforts to stamp it out would be directed at these two populations. It's not. Instead, liberals tell the victims that it's their fault for being white.

Just tell them to go F themselves.

That's not true. I've taken sociology classes several times and if you examine the definition of racism "hatred or intolerance of another race or other races" you'll see that it doesn't matter what race it is. Although the racism of whites is not as frequent, unfortunately, as those of other races.

It's an issue of power and majority. Whoever has the power and the majority cannot be the victim of racism. They can, however, be the victims of prejudice.

Not saying I agree with this definition. Just clarifying it.

it is racism just not the kind like against blacks, it can be against the clothes u wear, your enviroment, your religion, ect. Not all racism is just against african americans. your teacher was wrong by saying racism is only against black people but people just see it like that because their was once slavery, and they dont realize racism is everything against someone for their beliefs or ways. :)
