Why did people actually find them scary in 1993, and how come now they look so fake?

Man, the dinosaurs still are scary. Think about it-- you're stuck on an island with no way of escaping, while Raptors and one big T-rex are out for food!

yeah my 5 year old cousin....well the 1993 was 13 years ago....technology has made huge steps since then so all special effects look more real now.have you seen the star wars films?you can see the differences between the first trilogy(ep 4-5-6) which came out in the late 70s and the 2nd one(ep1-2-3)which came out in the early 00s.

With the passage of time & progress in science and technology,
when better improved pictures & digital images of dinosaurs r shown to us, then we find the earlier computer-generated dinosaur obselete & unreal. That's why u find them fake & unscary today.

Try watching any episode of "Land of the Lost" from way back in the 70's.

They don't look that fake.
That part where the T Rex has his mouth in the car and the kids are screaming.
Man, I'd be screaming too!
