Good start formula...once I boil the water and mix it up if I put it directly into the fridge, once I take it out how long will it stay good in an insulated bag?

For everyone who keeps saying don't boil the water...my doctor told me I MUST boil it because with the good start it doesn't dissolve as easily and it being that hot ensures that it will dissolve...if it doesn't it can give the baby a tummy ache. So I have to have them premade before I leave the house.

Three hours it what it says on the container, but I wouldn't give it to the baby after 2 hours of sitting out, especially if it's hot where you live.

Don't pre-mix and refrigerate the formula!

This is how I do it with my daughter since birth.

I pre-measure her bottles with sterilized water. At Wal-Mart they sell these little plastic containers that hold enough formula for at least three feedings and they have a neat little spout that can be easily poured into the bottle without spills.

Before going anywhere I have the container full of however many formula mixes I'll need. And before we head out the door I warm the pre-measured bottles of boiled water so that they will stay warm in the bottle bag. Then when it is time for her bottle all I have to do is take it out pour in the mix, shake it up and serve it to her. But heating and reheating really isn't fresh and also takes away some of the natural vitamins that are contained in the formula which is why you should mix and serve immediately. If she doesn't finish it after an hour then it has to be thrown out. Good luck.

Also when you heat formula that is already mixed there can be hot spots in it from the microwave. This is why it is better to mix afterwards because it warms the bottle evenly.

Like in an insulated bottle bag? 3-4 hours. At room temp--no longer than 2.

it is good as long as it stays cold. try putting an ice pack in the insulated bag.
