Seeing as how I agree with every point you've stated............
I believe we should assist those countries that are willing to support our nation's goal of world stability.

Depends what you mean by isolationist. The Chinese are definitely not economic isolationists. Isolationism has usually been associated with Conservatives, until recently. Most Americans are generous and giving. The rest of the world sees it as it is. Our foreign policy is hypocritical. It is often only self serving and does more damage that it has helped. We often ignore countries in crisis where helping has no benefit to us strategically or economically. Just look at Africa and the genocides that have occurred there. We were much more isolationist prior to WWII and were criticized for entering the war so late.

No. Isolation breeds contempt. Contempt breeds bully's. Bully's breed more bully's. Bully's don't think, don't have self-control, only care about controlling others. Isolation breeds destruction.
Regarding being kicked in the teeth: Humans hate being 'needy' and worse, having to have help to do fundamental things. Ask any paralytic how hard it is to get used to needing help. Because needing help hurts so much, you naturally denigrate the giver, thus elevating some of the pain, and the desire to eliminate more of the pain by cutting off the hand that helps you. It has a lot less to do with fairness than it does to conceived self-preservation. Also a basic element of destruction for every civilization throughout history.

Isolationism, while sounding somewhat nice, for an already developed nation would crash the economy. In an undeveloped nation wage is not an issue nor are environmental regulations.
We as a developed nation have enacted to many laws which make it impossible to even manufacture many products that we need.We also demand high wages and standard of living that could not be maintained in isolation. We would face inflation on a scale not seen since the 1930's and would have shortages of everything.the nation would grind to a halt.

I usually agree with you. If you are advocating isolationism, then I respectfully disagree on this issue.
It comes back to terrorism. It cannot be allowed to flourish unchecked while we try to hide in the US.
Right now, I am being told, Iran and NKorea may soon make Iraq look like preschool.

I think it only appears that way. I guess we'll all find out in a couple years when we see some Chinese guy , with a blue helmet, pointing a rifle at us. ( U.N. security forces policing our country)

You are right. Every time we help another country we get raked over the coals.
We should use our resources to help our own people. NOT with more government handouts, but with building a better economy and a stronger military should we need to fight another war (if we are attacked again).

Even "Liberal" Holland has tightened up it's borders and Imports.
I agree it is time to shed the commie cold war propaganda of racial divide and roll up America's sleeves like or forefathers did in WWII and get to work.

I think no matter what we do, it'll be wrong. If we focus on ourselves, the rest of the world will call us selfish. If we continue to help other countries, we're "interfering", and "warmongers."
We're hated until someone wants something. Then it's, "Oh, we love America, help us, America!"
