Well i think the easiest instrument to play and learn is the recorder thats why they teach in school in music classes (not band). I also think the piano is fairly easy to learn but it gets harder and harder as you get better.

I think it's guitar, as it can be tuned in a way so anyone can use 1 finger to play, and also there are a lot of songs that only have 3 chords to them.
Actually even more easier is the bass guitar which you only have to play one note at a time!

i say other than the recorder the drum, everyone in my instrumental wants to play because it is the most simple thing to play.
