rum - this would normally be applied to a srange person eg He's a rum fellow. Rarely used these days.
strange - can apply to anything which is unusual.
odd - this also means unusual, can be used to describe a person or thing, but implies something unexpected.
weird - this means strange, but implies something/someone unnatural or twisted.
eerie - applies to a sensation or an atmosphere, which is ghostly.
uncanny - would normally be applied to a feeling, with the implication of being inexplicable.

To me rum is an alcoholic drink, but the other words are quite similar in meaning. Eerie is the one that would most bring on "cold shivers" if you know what I mean. These sites should help.

Did you try the dictionary? Unless you're looking for regional patios or some other explaination that the word is currently.

More details please...
