My hubby & I decided we were ready for a baby so I went off birth control (Ortho-Evra). We didn't do any kind of ovulation prediction to get pregnant, we just figured if it was going to happen it would. I was off birth control for almost a year before we conceived. And we were very suprized! Good luck with TTC!

That depends on the type of birth control you were using prior to trying. Generally after taking the pill, it only took a couple of months. I terminated the pregnancy before my daughter, then wanted a child because my husband and I had worked things out. It took about 4 - 6 months for me to get pregnant.
You should monitor your cycles to find out the most likely time of ovulation, and an ovulation predictor kit may help also.
Good Luck!

It took me 3 months to become pregnant. Some people take like up to 1 year ( if it takes longer than you need to see a doctor)
I think 3-4 months is the normal if you are healthy and ovulating. ( Try to take the ovulating tests)
Good Luck

I'm 39, husb 45, we've been trying for 18 months. For the last 3 months we've been going to a fertility clinic, am on second IUI. Physically everything is fine, am told we should have no problem conceiving and that it's a numbers game - healthy sperm meets healthy egg at the right time. Very best of luck to you!

Here are my pregnancys
1. took a month and had a girl
2. took a week and had a girl
3. took nine months and I miscarried at 11 wks
4. took a month and had a boy
5. wasn't planned but miscarried at 7 wks
6. took 3 months, and I am 7 weeks pregnant, fingers x everything is ok.
The best thing to do is stop trying, just stay off the pill, but don't think about getting pregnant, it will just happen x

With my son, I got pregnant the first try, since I was charting my period (temperature and cervical mucus). I charted for 4 months while on the condom, OB's orders. This allowed me to get used to the signs of my body. Then on the 5th month, we went for it and god pregnant.
I am pregnant again (2 weeks) and this one is on the first try. I'm also charting this time.
I am using Fertility Awareness Method, as is described in teh book "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler.

I went off birth controll last December, and just found out this week I was pregnant. I was almost going to make an appointment with my doctor to check things out. Don't give up hope. I guess sometimes it just takes awhile.
