It's a virus. And you have no time to scan the pc because it shuts down very often. This happened to me few weeks ago. All anti-virus or other security software doesn't work on this. The best way to solve is Reinstall your Windows.
If you felt that your software doesn't have problem, it may be the hardware problem. Check your CPU's fan. It might be too dirty and overheated that causes your pc shutting down. Clean it very carefully. If this doesn't solve the problem, it might be the anti-virus problem. We don't suggest you check it or move any hardware in your CPU on your own, take it to a shop might be safer.
Some of the anti-virus shuts down to prevent virus coming in to your pc. Most of the anti-virus doesn't do this but some of them might do this.

If you know you have enough memory etc. then run viruses etc check and look for any free software- hardware updates on the website of your maker. If that doesn't work, I put all I want to keep on CDs or a memory stick- blow it out back a couple months or re start it- blow it up- back to the beginning then reinstall my most used software I know is safe and use the info off the CDs like a library- Its annoying, but works. I'm a Mom and graphic, mural artist- not a tech and I hate messing with a computer that "messes with me!"

If your processor is too hot then this would cause reseting of your machine. Make sure your processor heatsink and fan are opperating properly and that you have good airflow through your case. If you have ever been in the bios settings (and only if you are confident of what you are doing) this will quite often give you the temperature readings for your system and processor. I would say anything over 60 c is hot, but check with your processor manufacturer for details.

Go here:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
and scan your computer for viruses and spyware.
If the scan completes successfully and doesn't find anything, open the case and check inside. You may have a bunch of dust built-up inside causing the machine to overheat. Make sure all fans are operational, especially the CPU fan and any fan on your video card. CAREFULLY use canned air to blow out the dust.
If that doesn't help, you'll probably need to take it to a shop.

my thoughts are that some nasty virus or bug has gotten into your PC..
your anti virus soft ware, may see this problem, and is trying not to let it run rampid in your system.
Most times, the antivirus soft ware will do a lot of shut downs to try to purge what ever may have gotten in....out
they have been known to totally halt the whole system. too.
Fire up your anti virus, and let it do it's thing

I had that happen to me, I ended up needing a new fan - the HD were getting to hot inside. I did more damage than I dreamed possible due to not realizing the fan had gone bad and had been cooking my HD the whole time.
Best advise, get someone qualified to look at it.

could be bcos it's overheating - is the fan going 19 to the dozen before it shuts down? If so, make sure the vents aren't blocled when you're using it - that was the reason my old one kept doing it.

I have had the same problem in the past, it's probably due to not enough memory. Probably best to go get another computer, cheaper in the long run!!
