vaginal discharge could be a sign of many different things, depending on the color or odor of it. You didn't say whether or not she has had intercourse or not.

If she has had intercourse already, then it could be a possible STD.

Having some amount of vaginal discharge is quite normal because glands in the cervix produce a clear mucous and those secretions may turn white or yellow when exposed to air.

Yeast infections cause a cheesy white discharge with a lot of redness and itching. This is common if you have recently been on antibiotics.

Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina causing a grey discharge with a fishy odor.

If she is worried, have her talk to her mom and maybe go to see a gynecologist.

It is very normal to have "gooey" discharge. If it gets too much or starts to smell fishy she'll need to see a doctor. It is still not a bad thing.
