Cell division reproduces the same kind of cell. Cell differentiation is, in embrionic development, the situation wherein cells split-off in different "directions" to become very different things (eg., skin, spleen,...etc.)
An editorial: Stem cell research is investigating the ways that very basics cells (think "undecided") might be introduced and encouraged to grow into cells... organs... to correct some sort of desease or injury. I think it's a good thing!

Cell division and cell division are antithetical.Cell division ensures division of a cell into two identical halves. Each half is a full fledged cell as far as genetic content is concerned.A dividing cell can never be differentiated. Cell differentiation means that a cell has become committed to perform a certain function and hence it will not divide anymore and now it will devote to producing specific proteins and will do certain functions in the body.

cells usually divide into exact twins that are the same.
That is division.
if they mutate and divide into two types of cells different from the original cell for any reason, that is a differentiation. liver cells are different from eyeball cells because of the purpose. the DNA has a code that causes stem cells to each form and grow into the various differentiated cells needed for a complete human ( or whatever) Some cells, ( most) once formed by the plan of the dna, always duplicate themselves exactly, unless cancer. others may be used to form different cells under proper conditions. all cells contain all dna but cannot be used easily to make any certain cell because it is locked up.

Its because of the natutre it will be divided but the cell differentiation is by example I explain U that the cells in U R liver is not the same as that of the cell is in the EYE.

merely prefer to function a sprint... cellular branch : develop form of that distinctive cells.eg-->mitosis and mieosis ( a million cellular provide 2 or 4 daughter cells) cellular differentiation : much less incredibly expert cellular turns right into a greater incredibly expert cellular.eg-->stem cellular (not likely expert,no particular function) differentiate into blood cellular ( greater specialize, has its particular function)
