There should be a little string attached to it. Pull on the string and the tampon will follow. If the string has gotten lost up in the vagina, you will have to use a gloved finger to fish for it and pull the tampon out. If you can't find the string, use your fingers to search for the tampon and pull it out. Do not leave the tampon inside. People have died from infection from leaving tampons inside too long. You should change every 4 to 8 hours at the longest.

this has happened to me before.... If the tampon get lost up there, and you cannot find the string... Try putting yourself in different positions to get it out- using your fingers (make sure you have washed your hands) I made a call to the Nurse Hotline and they told me to try that.... But if you cannot get it out on your own you will need to see a dr. I wont go into detail why because most have already explained this to you. I didnt want to go to the dr's because of embaressment! Hope it all works out for you

I can only assume that you are asking this because the string is no longer protruding or has broken.
You *gotta* reach up there with two fingers and grab it to remove it. It won't hurt you, and will give you impetus to learn more about your anatomy. The vagina is designed to be stretchable enough to allow a baby's head through, it will certainly accomodate your two fingers in addition to the tampon.
You can elect to do to the doctor, and the medical personnel can remove it, but they will be rolling their eyes at this use of the system.
In other words, just "grab it and growl".

well if there is still a string then you oull it out at a upward slant becuase your cervix i think is the word is curved if you pull straight down itll huirt more. if there is no string try to reach up and find iot. no string means you have to stick both your fingers is and pull it out. it will hurt and thatll be normal the first few times, if the string is gone then youve kept it in to long and make that be a lesson
