So I took a pregnacy test last night and it came out negative. It's been 3 days since my missed period. I've never been late before. My periods always come on time. If it was negative what could be the reason that I'm not pregnant? I haven't been under alot of stress.

Hon, you just answered your own question. Stress is one of the main factors, other than pregnancy, that can make you late on your menstrual cycle.

Now, if you still haven't started a week after you were supposed to, take another test. You could still be pregnant, although I don't think that it's likely.

If you still have not started by next week, put in a visit to your OB/GYN to make sure that everything is okay "down there". Hormone imbalances (like a thyroid hormone defeciency) can cause missed periods, too.

I think that you're just stressed, though. Get a glass of wine, meditate, or pray. Take a walk, a long warm bath, or listen to music. Do something that you find relaxing, and unless you're pregnant, you should be getting your monthly visitor soon.

Even though the test was negative, you could still be pregnant. It may be too early for a test to accurately measure your hormone levels, or the test could have been faulty. Also most pregnancy tests need you to do them first thing in the morning, when the levels of hormone are stronger in your urine, so I would do another test first thing in the morning as soon as possible to double check. Or if you haven't had a period by your next cycle do the test again when your hormones could show that you are pregnant. You could also visit your doctor and ask that they do a blood test to check.
Most females find that they have had the odd missed period that isn't pregnancy in their lifetime, so the fact that this is unusual for you could be stress enough to put it off for another month.
But you should really visit your doctor and get checked out if this continues, it could be your body's way of saying that there is something else wrong. Better to check and avoid stress.

to begin with the tests are not 100% so i would wait a week and if your period doesn't come i would take another one. If that one come sup negative and you stil don't get your period then you should see a doctor.

The stress itself can cause you to miss your period all together. I had a friend that did not get her period for 3 months because she was so stressed about being pregnant and then she went to the doctor, who told her she wa snot having baby, that night she got her period. so definately try not to stress vecause it will definately have an effect on your body- but take the other test just to b sure. Good luck

Stress is a key factor in whether or not you're late. It could also be caused by yeast infections. I was told about a month ago that taking Amoxicillin could cause a late period. I don't know how true that is, but it's worth thinking about. Other than that, I can't think of anything, except, maybe you took the test too soon.

you are TRYING to get pregnant? Or you don't want to be pregnant? First, I would say take another test. And second, reconsider your stress factor, because you sound a bit stressed hun! I am never late either, and for some reason this month I was three days late. It's ok. Just take another test and you will feel more confident. Or go see your Dr.! :)

Well, wait another 3-5 days and test again. If you still haven't started than go see your doctor. I never showed up on the test till like 2 weeks after I missed. So keep waiting!!!

Your body changes its cycle a little every 7 years, stress, sickness, poor diet, weight gain or loss- these things can cause it to change at any time.

Women simply do not cycle like the tide.

You can wait a few more days and take another test, waiting a week would be best. After that its safe to say you're not pregnant.
