I think around 9:30 would do. Increase it by a half hour for every years, I would think. I'm 17 and my curfew is 11. Before 17, I didn't really care too much to stay out later than what my curfew was at that time, except on weekends, but then I was crabby in the morning if I was awaken early.

curfew? At 14 don't you have to go get him from somewhere for him to get home? My 13 year old doesn't have a curfew yet. If she goes to a movie with friends or whatever I go pick her up afterward. I didn't have a curfew until I was 16. Oh and I don't let my daughter be out with kids old enough to drive!

Curfews all depend on the child. In my household it depends on who your with. My children don't like being out late, anyway. We try to enforce 10 or 10:30 on weekends. Once a month or so we'll allow her to be out until 11, depending on who she's with. If its a date, she's home by 10.

Its up to you. Is you child responsible enough to not get into trouble?

9pm. Make exceptions for some events. Know where the kid is. What business does a 14y/o boy have out past 9,anyway?
Be sure to consider your town and what attractions there are. If you have a great little town where the kid can have pizza and play air-hockey with his friends, maybe a little later. If it's a small town with nothing at all to do, being out late is inviting trouble.
