I agree, it isn't a gay thing. It just is a human nature thing. Some people do it better than others. It is an introvert/extrovert thing more than sexuality. It is all in the point of view, actually. I think you could perceive yourself as being lonely even when with other people.

Poodle said it right - anyone can be lonely, for all sorts of reasons. If you're gay and you don't have many gay friends, you can feel a bit isolated at times, but I'm sure lots of straight people feel like that sometimes too, if they have worries or issues that they can't share with anyone.
If you have a lot of close friends, or a lover, there is no reason for anyone to feel more lonely because they're gay.

Lonely? Honey, only if they're doing it wrong. I don't know any that are lonely.
If they are, it's probably because their inbred parents, pedophile clergy and illiterate friends rejected them and the phobic landlord kicked them out of their single-wide trailer.
All they have to do is move to a city where people read past the 4th grade level, read books other than the bible and assorted fairy tales, and have all their teeth.
Once there, they're free to date, become a couple, and live together happier and longer than breeders like Britney.
