a very close friend of mine had a wig, but that was necissarily, cause she had to less hair. You know, this was a very painfull situation, it was very sad. She went to several wig stores, cause a good wig (so nobody can see it is fake) is very expensive. The persons in the stores told her that their customizers are often cancer patients, people who pull of their hair and also a lot of cross dressing people go to their shops. So, don't be ashamed (you might not, I don't know) it is for those stores very normal to let a man fits a woman wig.
And btw, you've got very different stores. (don't buy a wig on the internet, you really need to fit it by yourself)
- Fit loads of them
- ask for advice ( a good store gives you a lot of advice)
- wigs made of hair are the best, but also the most expensive ones
- my friend went also to a store at somebodies home, well, that wasn't professional. Go to more stores before you decide to buy a wig. (my friend did the same)
- the wig must be PERFECT!! If it isn't, don't buy it!

Don't be afraid to go to a salon in person. If you are uncomfortable call ahead and explain your situation. Most sales ladies will be very accommodating. They will also style the wig to help frame your face etc. Be prepared to spend some money. A good wig is the best aid in being convincing as a woman. Don't waste your time and money on a cheap wig.

Otherwise, most costume stores will have some wigs that are good quality, and some that are really not. It's more about knowing what to look for I guess.

My friend use to buy wigs from the internet. I don't know the exact web page or anything but shop around. I'm sure you'll find something to fit your intrests.
