The Nazis were a political party, not a military force.

The Nazis had a military force of sorts, known as the Waffen-SS (SS for Schutzstaffel, or "protective squadron"), which started off as the body guards for the Nazis. Later, they became a full-blown "elite" military force.

The regular German army was separate, but of course they were under the control of the Nazi government, so depending on what you mean by your question, the answer could be yes or no.

Hope this explains what you needed to know!

The Nazi party was in power in Germany at the time so the military was lead by Nazi leaders. There couldn't be an opposing military force within Germany because the government at the time wouldn't support it.

THere was the Bundeswehr. The German Military. The Nazi's were similiar to a political party. The SS / SD were military branches of the Nazi party.
Not all Germans belonged to the Nazi Party. In Fact Most of Germany's best Generals did not belong to the Nazi Party.

During the war, the Nazis had one military force...known as the Waffen SS. The other military in Germany was the regular army known as the Werhmact, these were not Nazi party members. Later in the war, there were the "people's" divisions or Volksgrenadier Divisions, but they were still apart of the Werhmact, but more resembled untrained militia....young boys and old men.

During the second world war, there were two armed ground forces (as opposed to the Luftwaffe [air force] and Kriegsmarine [navy]) in Germany: the Heer, or army, and the Waffen-SS, or armed wing of the SS, a paramilitary force created originally as Hitler's personal bodyguard.

All members of the SS (including the Waffen-SS) swore personal allegiance to Hitler and the Nazi party.

The Heer had no such requirement, and there was a lot of dissention within the Army with many of Hitler's decisions, such as the timing of the invasion of Russia, the Ardennes offensive, etc.

the nazis were in control of the country politically. the army follows the command of the civil leaders. some generals were against hitler and tried to kill him, but failed. the nazis had the brownshirts, their own mob/police force, but the german army were their fighting forces.
