My daughters school had a huge oak tree that was knocked down from Hurricane Katrina. The children used to gather around the tree for snacks and reading books.

They had built a nice deck around the tree and the deck was damaged but not that bad. They are going to replace the deck and plant a new tree. This will cost over $1000.00
So, we are tying to come up with new ideas to raise money.

Anyone?

Have a dinner night like chicken and noodles, spaghetti or chili supper very easy and great fund raiser. You will probably get more than you need. The food is usually donated by the companies. Try calling whatever company makes the ingredients for the food you are going to prepare. I am sure you can use the school kitchen and cafeteria or local shelter house. The food you prepare should be the most scrumptious and desired food for your area! You could have the locals put on a comedy show for the crowd, they love to do it! or a kindergarden sing along! The tickets could be priced very cheaply as the food will be donated. I promise!

The best school fund raiser I was ever involved with was a donkey basket ball game. Yes, they play inside on a gym floor - they have special shoes that cause no damage. They are such fun to watch!
We raised nearly $5,000 with one game.

The place we used was called Buckeye Donkey Ball out of Ohio. They go everywhere I believe.

Check them out - it's such good fun! and I know those affected by Hurricane Katrina need all the smiles & laughter they can get.

You should contact a home-based business representative -- like an Avon lady or a Home Interiors representative.

Ask them if they would be willing to do a fundraiser for this purpose. Most home-based business people are completely willing to forgo their profit of 20-40 percent on sales for fundraisers.

Home Interiors has awesome candles they sell -- and any home-based business person would love to help you.

Good Luck!!

Collect pennies; scratch tickets; lottery; sell cookie dough; sell Christmas cards the children have made; hold a yard sale; sell school calendars; sell school yearbooks; sell recipe books - get parents to contribute recipes and compile them into a recipe book. Just a few ideas!

this takes time, but have a plant sale, have kids grow from seed whatever they like to sell (dirt and seed is cheap), clay pots if needed ) maybe teacher could ask at home supply store for discount if ur buyin a few for a school.

I cant remember exactly how it works but check out general mills box tops for kids. Otherwise you could try some kind of a huge garage sale where the kids could bring clothes, books, toys they dont want anymore.

Host a bingo night... you can actually raise a good chunk of money doing it and it's fun for kids to run it.

otherwise there's the typical bake sales, bazaars, car washes, etc.
