She is learning something new and discovering her mouth and tongue. This is totally normal. My daughter go in the habit of doing little things like that. Now she is 8 months old and has learned to blow bubbles and does it over and over to her delight. They will exhaust every new thing until they discover something else that entertains them. It is part of babyhood and really cute when they are in these stages. Don't worry everything is fine.

Hi there new mommie!
Baby drool is natural...I helped raise 2 nephews and a niece in addition to my own children, so take it from me. Some babies get their first 2 bottom teeth as early as 4 months. If baby is drooling now, pretty soon you will see two little teeth peeking through the gums. Buy a teething ring, or let him nibble on one of your clean fingers, you may feel them comming through soon. But as for the dribble and the drooling...It's natural, in time they naturally learn how to control it. Besides, it's the cleanest, dribble you'll ever touch since they are so young and innocent.

Swallowing drool is not a baby's first instinct so they push it out with their tongue. Annoying - but totally managable.

Most of what babies do is reflex so she's not thinking like we do about what she's doing.
At her age it's possible she could be doing early teething. If she seems a bit cranky, cries a little more, wants to chew on your finger or hers....that could be what's going on.

She's probably teething, just invest in some bibs so you don't have to change her shirt all the time. It's normal and there's no way to stop it.
