The chips help the owners track down the horse(s) if they get lost. Like the other person said, it is much more humane than branding. The horse owners might also have insurance, which microchipping is needed. You could ask your trainer why the horses got chipped too.

i have never any of my horses micro chipped and could no longer both. If someone feels extra valuable doing it, that's no longer a situation, flow ahead and do it. I doubt the thieves will be providing you with a decision in the adventure that they locate the chip. it may help if someone unearths the horse and really tries to locate the rightful proprietor. that's all a crap shoot, that the horse will fall into honest palms. if you imagine that it is not a ploy on the governments area to take yet another inch of freedom from the rurals and animal vendors, I keep thinking the actuality that ostrich with its head interior the sand. If that is made into regulation there'll be 1000's of farmers, ranchers, breeders, tutor human beings, racers, rodeo contestants, 4H little ones, the record is infinite which will wade through simply by a distinct further price in order that the authorities can keep music of what Joe Blow is doing which include his horses, cows, sheep, canines, cats, and gold fish. that's not that any one human beings honest human beings are trying to conceal something, that's the continual paper paintings and price to get the chip implanted and so on and so on...it really is yet another finished time activity for those human beings that flow our animals on a commonly used foundation, purchase, promote, what ever. it really is slowly turning out to be actual that our rights are being taken faraway from us, a touch at a time, so we received't be conscious. One ought to flow again and examine up on what occurred to Europe basically in the previous WW2

so that if the horse is stolen it can't be sold to a meat man. also, some microchips can be tracked, that way you can find the horse after it goes missing.
don't worry, it's a very good thing that all the horses have been microchipped.
