Recently i have had terrible moods swings, get really emotional, cry alot, get down and depressed and get into strops and my boyfriend has to take the brunt of it all even though its not he's fault.
I have no idea why ive suddenly become like this. Its not PMT as i take the mini pill and dont get periods, and havent had any period type symptoms.
Any ideas?

You should ask your docter, is it normal not to have any periods at all?

The pill is an artificial hormone, just like the ones your body produces when you are pregnant, so it is very possible that your moods are a reaction to this.

However, there are other elements which affect you moods, such as diet. If you have been having too much sugar recently, or not eating enough fruit vegetables and fresh fish, it may be a result of this.

If you think it may be the pill. 1) Ask your doctor to try a different pill to see if the side effects go away. 2) Try stopping the pill for the required 7 days to allow a small period. The build up of hormones caused by continuously taking the pill could be taking it's toll.

If it's your diet, (combined with things like stress), you need to take the advise which is so readily available everywhere and try and eat better.

Hope things improve for you!

It sounds to me like it could be the 'minipill'.
We are women, and it is ABNORMAL for our bodies NOT TO SHED THE LINING of our uterus'.
When we have our periods, that is what really happens. It is a way for our bodies to cleanse itself and prepare our 'inners' for birth.
I understand being on the pill, but please realize that having a period is A NORMAL THING.
Whenever we take any kind of hormone, and alternate or mess with the balance within, we subject ourselves to these horrible mood swings.
Talk with your obgyn and see if you can use another method of birth control.
Take vitamins. B6 and B12 help with mood swings. Try staying away from using too much sugar and/or caffeine.
Drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself hydrated.
Hope you feel better.

this doesn't sound too serious
lots of people get mood swings and they can be caused by many things.
if they persist or get more frequent you should see a doctor.
you may have gone through something recently
that you didn't take as well as you think...it could be the result of emotional build-up..
but maybe it's the hormones from your pill,
or your body reacting to it in such a way..

good luck

Your hormones may be unbalanced as a side effect of the mini-pill.
