if you live in a colder cliimate then you can use 5w30 oil to keep you engine running smoothly. Since the oil will cool down overnight then it usually gets thicker so by using a lighter weight oil it will remain more viscus and will move over the cams and engine parts easier. Your Yamaha uses a dry sump oil transfer. If you live in warmer climates then use 10w30 oil. It should be just fine.

Super Cleat doesn't know what he's talking about. Synthetic is fine in any bike with a clutch. The old Arco graphite oil in the 70s could polish clutch plates smooth, but me and a whole lot of other folks have been using Mobil 1 for decades in bikes. Mine was the Maxim's big brother. The XS11. The clutch was 120,000 miles and 24 years old when I finally sold it and still worked great.

Also be careful not to use synthetic oil as it will ruin your wet clutch.

first consult your owners manual if you do not have it Look on the frame decal the recommended oil will be listed there
