I would say they are both famous, I personally prefer rock.
Did you mean more famous? I would say rap because everyone's heard of it, whether it's because they like it or they complain about it because they hate it.

I would say that Rap is more famous at this moment but if you are talking about the last 50 years then Rock is definitely more famous

I think Rock has been around a lot longer than rap, rap is an urban street thing made up of street talk and bulls**t , where Rock comes from the heart its soul based music, and has been around a lot longer than rap.
Rock ballards are some of the best around..... give me rock anyday over the non sensicle crap they call rap.
