The best I can tell you is to talk to them to see if you can get extended deadlines - many with empathize with you, but they wont sympathize with you. There attitude will be if you can't cut it in college its not their problem. I would suggest cutting back on the hours at work and try to shift some of the family obligations to other family members. In the long run you getting a college education will benefit all more than what ever the short-term issues you are dealing with now are and its important that others not be so selfish on your time. You need to be a bit more self-centered on yourself and your goals or you wont make it.
Good Luck!!!

Teachers are taught to have NO sympathy when it comes to this. They are graded on the things they teach you and how well you score on your work. I would reccommend cutting back a few hours a week from your job so you can study a little bit more. How sad would it be to fail your classes after all the money and time you've put into it. You would have a much better success rate by getting your family to help out on your obligations and spending more time on your school work, even if it is only an extra hour a day. I'm sure your family would understand. If you only spent one extra hour a day studying your courses instead of working as late then you would have 7 hours a week to help bring your grades up so you dont fail. And yes, that is including weekends as well.

I am sorry to have to tell you that a professor probably won't bump your grade more than a point or 2. Your best bet is to prioritize. If getting an education and a degree is important to you, you need to make time to study. In the long run you will do better cutting back your hours at work and talking to your family about needing time for school. It may make money tight for a while, but obviously you can't keep up at the pace you are going. It will only get harder as you get further along in school. Either that or drop down to 2 classes a semester. It will make it hard to get financial aid and it will take twice as long to graduate. It will be more probable that you will finish school though, if it is impossible to work less hours.

Oh... your dilema brings back some nightmare memories... when I went to the University, I had absolutely NO money. I had to work mornings at the cafeteria, noons, evenings and then at night, as a cashier at a bar. I went home and studied to 3 in the morning each day.. My grades were miserable but somehow I got thru.. I know what you are going thru.. You can talk to the professors but you know.. It is NOT their problem and most could not care less.. In the days when I went to the Universityi, it would have done NO good at all and flunking out was common.. Good luck but your only chance is to work more to get money and that is not easy

Well I don't know what you should say, but I know there are many professors do pass their students due to sympathetic conversations and pleads.
I do not think it's right at all, but because you asked, I know someone who went on behalf of their boyfriend and told the prof that she was the reason his grades were bad, and they passed him.

Oh wow. I would simply explain to your profs your situation and tell them you would do anything to boost up your grade whether that is extra credit, etc. You could also tell them you are interested in redoing papers, tests, etc. I would then make every effort to pass (not just pass but do well) the next few tests and the final exam. I would also go to class every single day.

Wow, 'tough titty said the kitty'. Honestly I can say that they really wont give a hoot about wat you tell them. The best thing you can do is either drop the classes or withdraw. You'll take them next quarter. No sweat. But it never hurts to try to reach a compromise with the profs.
