This is why we have the well known proverb "Don't pick up hitch-hikers, they will only put you off eggs"

Don't be put off something when someone compares it to something unconnected.
Eggs sold are not fertilised, they have no embryo in them.
However if the thought of eating animals distresses you,
DON'T USE EGGS FROM CAGED BIRDS, THE EGG DOESN'T SUFFER, BUT THE HENS LAYING THEM DO.
If you are against any animals being killed, don't even eat free-range eggs, unless you can bare most male chicks being killed in the system, because they cannot lay eggs.

No it's not like that at all. Chicken eggs are raised seperatley from roosters so they can't be fertalized. Therefore, there is no chicken in the egg. Or in any eggs for that matter. A girl can release an egg anytime and so can other egg laying animals.

I once stole some eggs from a farm (whilst I was doing my Duke of Edinburgh award), took them back to our starving group and when we cracked them open into the pan they were more or less fully formed chicks. We all freaked out - some of us even puked - Haven't touched an egg since.
Suppose that'll teach me to pinch eggs!

Welcome to the real world, my friends!!
To survive, all organisms have got to feed off something, right?
And it just so happens that humans have evolved as omnivores (we can eat anything, more or less) but whether you're eating meat, fish, or vegetable products, it's all dead. What's yukky about that?
It's just the way life is, no point being squeamish about it!

No prob Bob
Laying Hen's in the UK are raised inhumainly with many never pecking or walking in their lives. The beaks are cut-off to prevent self mutilation due to the close-quarter enviroment. Yes even a chicken will commit suicide if pushed far enough.

Only if it's a fertilised egg, which it isn't, usually. An unfertilised egg does not contain an embryo.

The yolk is not the embryo it's the food that the embryo lives on had it been fertilised. The white is for protection.

Eggs you buy are unfertilized so they would never be anything but an egg. There is nothing that can be born from a refrigerated, unfertilized egg.
