Got to ask why you need a sport to do?
If its pure fitness then Running, Swimming or Cycling are good - all can be done in a group or on your own so you can do them to your own timetable
If its a fitness and social thing then any team game really but pick a level where it isnt too competitive to start with

Volleyball, it's addictive and great fun, really good people generally, easy to improve quickly, quite a big network once you get into it, all you need to start is a pair of trainers and if you get into it like I did, you can travel all over the place, meet great people and have really great times.
The EVA (english volleyball association) will have details of your nearest teams, even in scotland I expect, (if not be able to give you details of a scottish Volleyball association), or just phone local leisure centers and they'll tell you if they have a team. If not, universtities will allow you to play, they are allowed a non student membership, as well as local military establishments usually, my local RAF and RNAS bases both did.
Good luck, enjoy!
