Terrible..at the people who said 1024 seeing the question is how many bytes not kilobytes are in a megbyte
As there are 1024 bytes in a kilobyte and 1024 kilobytes in a megabyte therefore there is 1024 x 1024 bytes in a megabytes

1,048,576 Bytes in a Megabyte,
In standard notation, Kilo is 1000, Mega is 1,000,000 so you wouldnt be too wrong to say 1,000,000 bytes in a megabyte
(Giga - 1,000,000,000)

computers work in base2 (binary) so the number is constanty being doubled regardless of whether you are talking about bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terrabytes etc etc etc
eg. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048,4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, 65536, 131072, 262144, 524288, 1048576
