the united nations is quite powerless ,seems like its pretending to do ,when it cant do anything but veto and silence complaint,by veto
it seems a usless body in every area it enters
what happend to the nation part ,seems 7 have controle wenough to make it really usless
or not pleas defend the in defensable they sure cant ,or perhaps what they are doing best,
it cant seem to stop war crime now can it
veto is a great get out of jail card for some.

so what if the un got out of the war buisness
and just focused on domestioc affairs
sold off its war weopens and became just docters and beurocrats ,health workers
its not keeping the peace but a team of lawyers could tie up, the funds of any country that wanted to spend public funds on war
not solgers police ,docters ,lawyers ,engineers
we then have a world peace body with real legal clout not a pretend army?

The UN is playing it's part as a distraction for the on going GLOBALIZATION better known as the NEW WORLD ORDER.
Massive changes in world economics and the alignment of governments is a tedious undertaking. Distractions are necessary to keep the masses in the dark.

In a perfect world the UN would be a shining example of joint co-operation. The use of a veto makes any effort of the UN obsolete. Can't have it both ways but with countries continually violating UN resolutions and other countries vetoing sanctions, etc, the UN is basically a toothless tiger. Too bad as the premise of the UN was a great idea and in a peacekeeping role, they have done some good and in disaster relief, they are second to none.

The US is one of the major debtors of the UN who owes them money but refuses to pay up. Which is not to say the US is the sole party, but unfortunately a main party to supporting the UN financially.
This is one of the few problems faced by them of too much reliance on the US alone.
The problem is getting all the European countries, England, former soviety union block and the US to pool money, military, food, medical aid and have several oversights, to make sure the pool of funds are not wasted or stolen.
The issues of war is not really real because social, political and food issues, include oil, water, housing, clothing, education, are how wars become more likely. The difficult issues make success less likely, hence seem like failures and do fail.

The U.N. rocks! With the proper press credentials, you can drink in their subsidized bar and chat-up cute foreigners. It's fun. I've done it for years when my newsroom was a few blocks away.
The delegates and ambassadors who yell at each other during sessions while their countrymen kill each other all hang out and drink together afterwards.
