Bleeding gums is pretty normal for a teething baby. When they teeth, the gum area becomes sensitive and weak, so that the tooth can break through. If the baby chews on a toy just right, it can irritate the gums and cause them to bleed. Give your baby something soft, llike a washclothe, to chew on.
Also, make sure you are regularly cleaning his gums. You can do this by using a warm cloth and gently rubbing his gums after he eats. Bleeding gums can be a sign of a gum disease/infection from not proper cleaning, but it would be very rare for a 6 month old to have this.
Bring up the issue at your baby's next doctors appointment, just to let them know what is going on.

Because those little teeth are sharp! As the tooth breaks the skin it can cause a little bleeding. It is not serious, and it will not hurt anything if the baby swallows it. If he/she is uncomfortable try some tylenol. most babies hate oragel. A cold washcloth is a good idea. Popsicles are good too, but for babies that already know how to eat.Good Luck.
