Perhaps a bad sound card? Also try double clicking the little speaker icon in your task bar in the bottom left had corner of your screen. A window will pop up. Make sure your volume control bar is slid up to the top and that you don't have the mute button checked. Or simple SINGLE right click the speaker icon. A little slider bar window will open up right there. Slide the bar to the top and make sure the mute box is not clicked. Also make sure your speakers are all the way plugged in. Hope this helps. P.S. If you don't have the little speaker icon in your taskbar go to your control panel. Click sounds and audio devices. You can also control the sound level from there and make sure it's not muted.

first off do you have speakers in your monitor if so make sure the green wire in the back is plugged in to the green plug on the back of the computer if that does not work try the volume then try the system volume which can be located by hitting start all programs, accessories, and then entertainment. if all else fails try plugging the speakers into the headphone jack.

I had the same problem one time. A friend told me me the computer lost the Sound Card Driver. She went to the web site of the sound card and download the driver. Now it works great. She said the computer some how lost the driver.

I know what a PC is. I don't know what DR is.
Sometimes my sound disappears, and then it returns.
You will find, your computer system never completely runs like it should.
Always some crazy thing going on that we don't understand.
Some day, these things are going to take on a life of their own, and it will be tough to distinguish them from flesh and blood humans.
