two seasons with John Ritter, and one after he passed away with David Spade and James Garner stepping in as Uncle and Grandpa.
By the end of the 3rd season Adam Arkin (Northern Exposure, Chicago Hope) had made a recurring appearance as The Mom's potential BF, and the Kid's HS Principal.
As per modern TV standards season 2&3 should have had 22 episodes, season one could have been 13 or 22, depending on whether it was a Fall launch or a midseason replacement.

but it got crap after John Ritter died. they should have stopped it.
