Chris, if you read it carefully, the NASA scientists have detected a storm which looks LIKE a hurricane, not exactly like it, but it has some similarities.

The system is stationary, UNLIKE a hurricane. It is centred around a pole of the planet, as I understand. The system does not have to be water based. They don't yet know if it is water based.

i read in the article that that storm on saturn looks like a hurricane, but has no characteristics of one. I'm pretty confident that nasa knows that you need water to have a hurricane

Water is not necessary in a hurricane and yes they did see a hurricane just over 1000 kilometres across! Photographic evidence was seen of this occurrence.

You read this the day before yesterday, also yesterday it
was reported in most scientific alerts. They said that they
noticed something that "looked like a hurricane" but were
not quite sure. Scientists will continue to monitor this
phenomena and tell us when they are certain of what
really is going on.

There are `weather' fronts on a number of planets in the solar system. Would not surpise me if they had seen a movement of gases etc
