CHOP YOUR FEET OFF,,,OR GET A NEW PAIR OF SHOES

Do not wear synthetic shoes. Use only fabric or leather. Clean your feet often. Wear socks always. Wash socks in disinfectant every time. Use foot powder. Have at least two pair of shoes and alternate pairs each day. Letting the other pair that stays at home dry out on a good quality set of cedar shoe trees after wiping the inside out with a cloth with disinfectant on it to reduce the microorganism count.

leave them outside overnight (as long as there is no precipitation !) and possibly the next day. dampen a cloth with white vinegar and leave in the shoes for a while before airing them out. when you wear the shoes again find a foot lotion with "tea tree oil" (a lot of foot lotions have that ingredient) it soothes your feet and helps keep them smelling fresh. whenever possible, where something on your feet. - peds, socks, anything - nylon stockings seem to make it worse

I've never tried it, but I heard if you stuff the shoes with newspaper at night when you're asleep they'll be OK when you get up.
