Do you even know what a neo-con is? If you did, you would use the term properly.

Feeble mind ? I don't know why you chose to say that.. I was just intrigued by the number of people making the point that you made with that response.. my smart guy comment was aimed at the first yahooer..
You are technically correct of course.
The term first appeared in the late 70's early 80's to describe radicals that had jumped ship.
60's Marxist David Horowitz comes to mind. However, the meaning of the word has changed as "Liberal" is also now a "Label" sound bite knee jerker.
I asked the question " what does it mean to you "
almost as a poke on just how easily we make words mean what we want them to mean.
But once changed the word has to retain it's current value if only to keep the dialog lucid. It may go back to meaning Dem turned Republican someday, but for now it means "New Extreme Rightist"

You'll probably get a couple of different answers such as a former Dem that switched to the republican party. The definition I personally subcribe to is that a neoconservative or the "new" conservative is one that is further right-wing than Reagan, your exclusive, bible thumping, war mongering lunatics that point to what I call "pseudo-patriotism" as the guise for validating their Un-American behavior. The classic example being Bush and his criminal administrtion. So I guess it really depends on which definition you prefer.

Neo-cons are a mutant form of conservative characterized by:
fear and hatred of the "counterculture", or anything or anyone different from the good old days: feminism, drugs, pop culture, abortion, celebrity artists etc; they think the US should rule the world in effect if not by fact; mindless, uncritical support of Israel, since many, though not all, are Jews.
Lately, everything bad or wrong about the Bush administration has come to be labeled as neo-con. It's probably not being misused if there is an epithet right before it.
Liberal comes from the latin word meaning free. In general, liberalism promotes freedom to do anything one wants as long as it does not negatively impact someone else's basic survival rights.

The liberal bias is not anything however a propaganda plea from the neo conservatives into looking to sway others into their Bush brainwashing. Does every person truthfully suppose that liberals rule the media besides for Fox? No. The majority of the general public sees the reality. Conservatives could like for indicates equivalent to Rush Limbaugh to manage the perspectives of the general public. However, the general public has heard approximately the drug addictions and bias of the Republican audio system. They should not have a discussion board to base their tips; hence they blame the click and hopes the uneducated buys into their ploys.

Obviously, being completely unbiased is impossible, so there will be some opinion interspersed, but...
Neo-Con:
- Strong Nationalist viewpoint. Not unlike Fascist movement of the early 20th century.
- Prefer military intervention to diplomatic options
- Buck fiscal conservative view, believing if you have to spend to expand agenda, then so be it.
- Belief that intervention in the lives of citizens is acceptable, if it expands agenda
Essentially not-unlike a Fascist-lite movement: Nationalism at all costs
Liberal: (much less defined)
- Strong belief in reshuffling of weatlh more equitably, to avoid the massive gap between Haves and Have-Nots
- Generally a tendency to support/encourage environmental initiatives (clean power, cars, etc.)
- Belief that govt should not control how an individual lives his/her life. (abortion for example... most Liberals are Pro-Choice, but that does not mean they think abortions are some great gift to the world. Most Liberals equally support a person's right to worship how they want, etc.)
It's kind of ironic that the "Liberals" have manifested as more Libertarian and the "Neo-Cons" have become more Communist (in the example of Stalin, etc. NOT Marxian)
Hope that helps...

Neocon is a term or label for a former democrat that moved to the GOP, either by voting for GOP or supporting it. Joe Liberman though politically "independent" but could be considered a neocon for his support of the Iraq war.
I first heard the term used to define the Dems that voted for Reagan.

Neo-conservatism was started by liberals/democrats. It was shown to be a socialistic viewpoints. That in itself is the same as a liberal. The libs are for socialism. You want the government to run every aspect of your life. Republicans and right wingers which are not exactly the same thing( no matter what your feeble mind thinks) is for the individual not the government, to have the say in what I do with my life and how I think for myself. Which is capitalism or free enterprise.

Neo-con refers to a group of new conservatives formed in the 90's who took over the think tanks and planned how to take back the government and succeeded until the last elections. It's hilarious watching them cut and run from their former positions and friends!
