Sweetie,i prefer a fake version of a Christmas tree.It is way less messy.Have you ever tried to get those little needles from the carpet? Its nearly impossible, even when using a vaccum cleaner. The real Christmas trees, are beautiful, but i would rather let them remain in the forest and me buy a fake tree.Have a good day hun.

Buy a real tree with a root ball, and plant it in your yard when the holidays are over! Make this a tradition, and you'll have so many memories whenever you see that lawn (whether you live there still or not).
If you don't live in a place you can plant trees, see if there is a park, or a local business that wouldn't mind taking in your tree...
Live trees don't have nearly as many needles falling off, and are far prettier.
Be sure to find a healthy dog and drop its... droppings... around the rootball when you plant to help get the growing started.

Real ones are beautiful and smell wonderful....but the watering and the needles falling is annoying so I use a fake one....and using fake ones saves the life of a tree...

It depends on which is more important to you: Ease, or Authenticity. A real tree has a wonderful smell, but requires water, sheds on the floor, and is a marginal fire-hazard.
A fake tree is less attractive, safer, quicker, and costs less in the long run
I buy real trees.

Inside we have a fake one, our son has asthma, and when he was young, the doc said no real tree, so we didn't put a real one up. We use to, but no need to have him sick over a tree. But I do get a real one and decorate it on the front lawn, to stand with the other things I put out there.

Defiantly buy a real tree! Just for the smell alone! You can get them in all sizes to fit your personal space, however I would recommend that you get your tree with the root ball attached so that you can plant it after wards. This way, you save a tree and some memories! :)

Real. There's nothing that can duplicate the real pine smell and it's way better than a fake tree.
