Hard to say. You need to find out more about this person. Faulting someone for being ill is a bit on the cold side, but hear him out and then decide for yourself. If he did it to someone once, what might happen if lets say, you become ill?

NO WAY!!! I have been married to a man with bipolar for 15 yrs. And I could not or would not have respect for someone that done their spouse that way. Just think if he will leave for those reasons he is a wimp! And just can not handle everyday stress .

Well yeah, his ex-girl friend isn't him. He probably really loved her and tried to make it work but her depression became too much for him to handle. He probably couldn't bare to see her like that and didn't like the effect it was having on him. Go for it!

It wouldn't rule him out. BUT... what I would need is corroborating witnesses to their relationship, to make sure there were more problems that just that. If it was that and only that -- he didn't like her being depressed and taking medication for it -- it would be enough to scare me away, then, yes. Talk to male and female friends who had a ringside seat to what their dynamic was like when they were together.
