It is Sunday afternoon where I am. My husband sliced his hand pretty badly on a mandolin. He hasn't had a tetanus shot in 20 years or so. Tomorrow is a really busy day. Can we wait until Tuesday?

You should have already gotten one. The shot should be received as soon as possible after the injury. Nothing is worth risking his health over, however busy.

How important is your hand and arm to your husband? better yet how important is his life or do you have a huge life policy on him.
Then Dear: get him to an ER right now, don't wait 'till tues.

as soon as possible, but should have one every 10 yrs or so. infection is so easy to get in today's life with so much antibacterial soaps the body doesn't work as well as it should.

Call your doctor. You should get one as soon as possible. If you can't get there sooner, make sure he has cleansed it thoroughly and put antiseptic on it.
