Two piggies?

Question

I have an adorable guinea pig but im a student and she is alone most of the day. My friends aunt is offering another guinea pig since they nolonger have time for theirs. Should i take the cavy or are they happier alone?

Guinea pigs are social animals, but maybe yours just doesn't like company. You should definitely put them together to see whether they get along or not. I have two piggies because I don't have tons of time to play with them, and they are happy and play together. PS: Make sure they are the same sex. You wouldn't want more mouths to feed and more homes to find for the babies!! :-)

Your Guinea pig would most likely enjoy a new friend but like all animals, they could have territory issues and anything from big to little spats finding out who is who so my suggestion would be...when you have the time...put the pigs together and watch from a distance and see how they interact. They seem to get a bit more relaxed when people ain't a factor so again, at a distance. you will know if they like one another with a couple of hours and if it's a go, your pig will have a new friend and some company. good luck,. :)

Um,,is your guinea pig spayed or neutered?
I would hate to encourage you to take on another and then have you wind up with a litter.

well if your is a male and your ant is a female don't take it because u will have a lot to care for. But if it is the same sex go for it take it in. NO they like company.

Yes! They are much much more happier together. As soon as you set that other piggie down, i guarantee your piggie will be more happy then you have ever, ever seen her!!! Good luck with your piggies! ! ! ! Awww..that'll be cute. They'll be soo happy.
