I'm not prejudice about people of color, I have an adopted daughter from Africa, and a bunch of colored friends. But I've always wondered at college even because there was an african american club, hispanic club but when someone asked for a white club, they were called racist.

We can't even have a european club to celebrate who we are.

If this is a serious question, and not just rhetorical.....
Because they have held ALL the power for so long, and while in power misused it so very badly. They used unethical, immoral and un-Christian ways to oppress the minorities. That memory, and the memory of the one large all-white "club", the KKK lingers with a stench so bold that no one even wants to bring it up again.
The term "all white" brings up connotations of that unfortunate situation.
And if you were not aware of it, whites still pretty much hold MOST of the power base, politically and economically. So long as they do, and probably a while after, this will most likely be the social sentiments.
However, in a truly equal society, it should not matter, and the ACLU has even backed the KKK for their right to be heard, as repugnant as the idea must have seemed to them; it is the "right" not the idea they were defending.
I have heard of German, Spanish, Irish and Italian clubs in the college setting, but are usually associated with the language departments/courses.

Because most colleges were established when blacks, hispanics etc. weren't as privileged as we are now. Also, colleges probably started ethnic clubs so other people could learn about different heritages and customs. Did they say only African people can join the African-American club? If not, there really isn't a problem.

These organizations are not exclusionary as are many traditional White ones have been. They celebrate culture but do not bar people who are not from those groups from celebrating. Schools have French Clubs and other clubs that feature things that are French, which is a European Language, country and culture. In other words cupcake, they already exist. Think before you ask.

whites make up over 72% of the population in america, of 300 to 500 million ppl and with the power structure of america being white owned (as observed through the fortune 500) why the hell would you even need a club?

There are MANY, MANY white clubs that exclude people of color, so the excluded form their OWN clubs without whites...what could be so wrong with that?

it has something to do with one of the social thoughts called righting the wrongs approach. since people of color were enslaved and treated unfairly before society nowadays try to reinforce equality by letting them to what were not allowed to do before and what were done to them/

I'm looking forward to the Miss White America pageant. There have been a lot of black winners lately. And if I had a lot of money I would launch a White Entertainment Television channel.
