I'm going to visit Cardiff for the first time, with a limited budget. Do you know any good hostel or B&B which is in the city centre?

The Blue Dragon Hotel on Newport Road in Cardiff is one of the cheapest and it's ok-ish inside too, or there are a load of cheap B&Bs on Newport Road (10 mins walk out of the city centre)
Walk down Queen Street away from town- you will walk under a railway bridge. When you reach the end of Queen Street there is a crossing (near Sainsbury's) cross straight over the road and keep walking- you will be on Newport Road.
Walk past the Holland House Hotel (very swanky but expensive) which will be on your right and soon you will pass City Road on your left- keep on walking and you will come to loads of cheap B&Bs. It's about £4 in a taxi or about ten min walk.
Sorry if my directions are dreadful- but anybody in town will be able to tell you the way to Newport Road if you're stuck.
I hope you enjoy Cardiff it's a lovely place.

Don't know off the top of my head, but log on to www.hostelworld.com and key in Cardiff. Put in the dates you wish to stay and see what that comes up with. Some of the hostels also have private rooms if you wish to have one.
Failing that, you could also try www.tripadvisor.com and key in Cardiff, then click on 'accommodation.'

The English Youth Hostel Association http://www.yha.org.uk/ maintain good, clean, reliable and safe hostels in England and Wales. Regarding B&B's, I have used Smooth Hounds Systems http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ numerous times and have always found quality B&B's.
