Traditionally, it is supposed to be the season of giving. To give unconditionally, as Christ gave his life for us. However, lately it seems too many times, to be the season of going into debt, and getting stressed out over what gift to give whom. It seems to be more about commercialism than anything else. My wish for this year, is for my friends and family to give something that money can't buy! Give someone the gift of friendship, the gift of time, or just the gift of knowing that we love each other dearly. I challenge all of you out there to do the same! Volunteer your time to a worthwhile cause, instead of going to the mall! Doing a good deed is a great gift, and it doesn't have to be wrapped! Happy Holidays to everyone!

I used to love christmas time watching how excited my kids would get when opening presents and seeing all the kids christmas morning outside riding thier new bikes or skates or just out playing and showing off what they got. Or how when I was small it was a time that the whole family would get together at my grandmas house for dinner. It would be the only time of the year since we were in California and the rest in Oregon so it made it pretty special especialy if it snowed while we there. Not much snow in so. cal. . Christmas just isnt so special any more , you never see kids outside playing on christmas day and my kids have grown and I have to share my grandkids with my kids plus the other grandparents and great grandparents it cuts time pretty short . And now my grandmothers gone so it sucks. Kids now days arent happy unless thier parents spend a small fortune on them so noone is ever in a good mood. Really thats what I think most people now days associate with christmas is the expense. It would be nice if presents werent the biggest part of christmas and a just spending time with family would be. Sorry but I am not religious even tho I know thats what christmas is supposed to be about I just see it as one day out of the year that people should be nice and happy and give some excitement to the little ones.

To me, Christmas is the best season of all. Full of love and family and togetherness. I love Christmas, I just wish we had more family around to spend it with. Thats why for Christmas the best gift I could get is to hopefully find out my husband and I finally conceived. Having a little one around next Christmas would be wonderful. Wish me luck!

It's a lie.

It should be about the birth of Christ , instead the focus is on sales.

Ppl pretend once a year that they can tolerate each other and show good will towards men . Where is that goodwill throughout the year?

It just means mad *** traffic, prices rising for christmas, ppl annoying the hell out of me by just going about my daily duties in the mob.

Seeing your family once a yr, breaking your heart that you cant be with them more, buying gifts for certain ppl you absolutely hate but have to get them a gift.

Getting yourself into more credit card debt .

I wish it ended already. Bring on January.

Up to this year, a whole lot of work and worry and really not alot of enjoyment. But life is alittle different this year, and I am not going to sweat it too much. I had a stroke in April, my daughter got married, and other daughter graduated college and is going way again to grad school in Jan, and my step daughter got married and had a baby.

Christmas means life, and this year, I'm enjoying myself.

Because it has become too commercialised that when it comes to Christmas, there are worries about what to buy (sometimes recepients doesnt like it. Maybe, its too cheap), where can I find extra money to buy those gifts etc...Its scary & sometimes I would rather go overseas or out of sight during this period..

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Everyone seems to be caring and the spirit of kinship abounds. It seems to bring a real Peace on Earth, if only for a moment.

An excuse for retailers to cash in and the population to over indulge in an expression of materialism.

It's a nice, festive time of year to spend with my family. We share stories, eat good food and give/receive presents. It's my favorite time to spend with my extended fmaily.
