I doubt it - I feel that British people (and I include everyone who holds the basic principals as desirable) should stand up and be heard. The problem is that the Government (who we put in place not so long ago) are not listening to the majority of law-abiding people, because they know they have another 2-3 years where they can ride rough shod, without worrying about their position. I think they will have a difficult time come the next general election.

That is so vague. When is years ago? People always go on about the 'good old days' but they never have an era in mind, just not now.
What makes you think we're not a prosperous country now? We're the fourth largest economy in the world, the pound is strong, trade with both Europe and America, where do you get your facts from?
There's still patriotism and if we're not 'British' anymore I missed the announcement.
What you're experiencing is 'the grass is greener on the other side syndrome'. Once you realise it's not, you'll be fine.

course it won't be the same as it used to be, no where ever is, was or will be..... a proud and prospering country.. hmm not since immigration on speed has been the policy, unless of course it is stopped or dramitically slowed and then generations later, maybe

I used to make Documentaries with a reporter called Alan Whicker, and he said once "The World is changing. But why is it almost always for the worse?".
Nuff said.
