Typically birds fly to the southern most part of their range. Depending on species it can be a slightly different direction. Many species migrate: waterfowl, songbirds, hummingbirds, etc. Many birds do not migrate....mostly birds found in areas where is does not get very cold (California, Florida, S. America etc.) and where there is food available year round.

It depends what species you're talking about. Most go generally south, but depending on where their wintering areas are, they can actually fly somewhat east or west. Many birds migrate, including waterfowl and small songbirds, it's too long to a list to list here. Additionally, remember that in the southern hemisphere, birds are actually flying NORTH to the tropics in winter.

The birds fly towards wherever it is summer. So it depends on what side of the earth you are on. In the austral winter, they fly north, but in the boreal winter, they fly south. There are way too many migratory birds to list here, but most kinds of birds migrate. My favorite is the Arctic Tern which migrates from Argentina to Alaska each year.

Birds fly south for Winter. Geese are the only ones I know. Try to search for migrating birds in your search bar on the web, Im sure you'll find heaps of info.

Since when do atheists ever claim to have everything figured out? If anything, we're just willing to admit that we don't know everything yet, and are still constantly learning new things. I personally don't know much about birds, so I can't truthfully answer if we know why or not. I just don't jump to the conclusion that it has to be God. But atheists and theists should seriously stop trying to trip each other up, it's kind of pointless... Anyway, toodles! :)
