The governement entered 535 treaties with American Indian tribes, and broke every single one of them! One reason why those of us from reservations do not trust the governement, as their word is no good! Don't say thats psat lets move on, as the situation in South Dakota and other places has yet to be rectified, we dont get handouts as many suggest, and considering that two reservations in South Dakota have the highest rate of poverty in the US, lowest life span of citizens, people still freexe in winter, and treaty obligations have yet to be met the issue is still very alive

Yes. There should be a procedure to adjust the treaties to modern conditions and values, but there should be drastic penalties for failing to comply. This would entail liens on specific Federal properties, If a tribe doesn't get justice, they get off shore oil rights, or a national forest.
