Hiya, a general question I thought a lot of people would benefit from, is, is genetics a factor in how easy/hard you find it to conceive? Or in other words, those of you who've had a hard/easy time, did your sister/mother etc have the same experience? I've heard my mother had an easy time and yet I am finding it hard...

Thanks for your answer. I have come off the Pill, am slim, eat healthily and do not drink or smoke or have a lot of caffeine. It's fun trying though....

It's a bit of both. There is a genetic aspect to it. People who come from larger families tend to find it easier to concieve, so that points to genetics, but someone who would have found it easy at 23 may not at 33. Age, lifestyle etc all play a part. It's the same for men. Women tend to be most fertile from around 17 to 29 years of age, men a bit later and for longer (21 till 38 ish).

Hi, my mum and sister got caught really easy but it took me a year to conceive with my first. I wasn't on the pill beforehand so it was nothing to do with that.....
I think a lot of other factors come into it too, like age, diet, weight etc

Good Luck and I'm sure you will get there xx

I believe it is genetic.

My Mum had no problems fall with either me or my brother, and I was pregnant after 1 weekend with my son, and 1 month with my daughter.
