Copper thieves?
It is no secret that copper thieves are stealing all and I mean all the copper out of This country. Now we have to have copper for electric lights, electric motors and running water to name a few. It is clear that these thieves are not just poor people out to make a few bucks or drug addict needing moneys, it is BIG BUSNESS. The scope of this problem indicates it is very organized, either it is organized crime or people stealing to finance terrorism. The problem is our Law enforcement people are not doing anything to stop the proplem so who is holding them back and why?

Interesting question. I work at a telephon co. construction garage, and we have been robbed 4 times over the last year or so. The last time a FULL REEL of 3000 pair cable was stolen. Do you know how heavy that is? I know I am not giving an answer here, but allow me to thank you for the question. I'm going to look into this trend.

It's a big problem where I live too .The rise in copper theft really became a problem when mr bush decided that only drug users were out there stealing it. so as a result of this our prisons are over flowing with "non violent prisoners" the families they left behind while they are in prison have to live on welfare. So the tax payer pays double, We pay for the person to be in prison and to take care of his family. And the sentences are extremely long for the average drug user. Crime seemed to skyrocket after the year 2000.And another thought is, When a parent can't find work,or work that pays enough to support his family,he will do what he can to make ends meet! As far as it being "organized" I wonder who the organizer is?Probably the same person/people that are holding back the police! In the past 6 yrs it seems that when someone wanted to make a point or to get a bill passed he created a problem to go with his already thought up solution! And as far as terrorism goes... when a gov. can instill fear in the citizens, isn't that a form of terror?
