YOU ARE A BEING OF LIGHT
From your innermost essence to your physical body, you are made of and nourished by a continuous flow of life force. This life force is a current of light which springs from the source of life itself. When it flows freely, you experience joy, vitality, and vibrant health.

In the natural course of living, however, various blockages accumulate within this flow. These blockages create dark clouds within you. They obscure your radiance and give rise to disharmony, pain, and disease.

GEMSTONES EMBODY LIFE FORCE
Like us, the Earth is enlivened by life force. As the Earth was forming, life energy was infused into the planet’s crystalline matrices. Thus, the Earth’s gemstones came to embody and express the life force within the planet.

GEMSTONES DISSOLVE BLOCKAGES
Gemstones radiate their life force with great power. When used properly they can bring light into areas of darkness and neutralize blockages within your being. As these blockages dissolve, the light of the life force can once again shine through to enliven, nourish, and heal you. Each type of gemstone expresses a different frequency; therefore, it can address a different kind of blockage.

ENERGY FLOW IN A GEMSTONE SPHERE
Gemstones not only contain life force, they also transform it into gemstone energy. In a gemstone sphere, life force is continually drawn in from the entire surface of the sphere to the sphere’s center. As it moves toward the center, the life force becomes more and more concentrated. This concentration fuels the transformation of life force into gemstone energy and causes the gem’s energy to be unleashed with great power.

THEY TREAT YOUR WHOLE BEING
You are a complex spiritual organism comprised of many dimensions, physical and nonphysical. Gemstone-sphere necklaces can directly affect all these dimensions. They are the easiest and most holistic way to experience the therapeutic benefits of gemstones.

THEY FILL YOUR AURA WITH ENERGY
When gemstone spheres encircle your neck, their energies can radiate into your entire subtle-energy field, or aura. Your aura is an energetic reflection of your physical body and inner aspects. As a gemstone’s energy fills your aura, it gains entrance to both your physical and inner dimensions, where it can work directly on dissolving blockages.

THEY RESPOND TO YOUR NEEDS
Your aura also contains a wealth of information about you. When your aura is saturated with gemstone energy, this energy is drawn back to the spheres carrying the aura’s information with it. The gems respond to this information and adjust their energy flows according to your needs. As long as you wear gemstones, their energies continually flow into your aura and back again, working at ever deeper levels. In this way, they gradually dissipate the energetic clouds and other blockages that obscure your natural radiance.

The higher a gemstone's quality, the more powerful are its therapeutic effects.

It's believed that the gemstones vibrations affect your aura, helping your body to achieve not only balance and awareness but also improve your emotional, spiritual and physical levels. Strung on silk, and having rounded edges, the gemstones function at their optimum. Care must be taken to see that no metal is surrounding your gemstone as it can reduce the effect of the stone, even eliminating it's beneficial affect.
"Synthetic gems" (man-made under laboratory- controlled conditions) are useless for gem therapy, so it's very important that the individual looking for a "healing gemstone" either be an expert gemologist, or know the person that you are buying from, including their qualifications to examine gems for treatment to ensure that you receive a natural 'gem'.
Some stones may help alleviate a physical ailment, but more commonly, stones are helpful in dealing with emotional issues.

Chakras and their base colours:
The seven chakras that are located throughout your body, associate themselves with a certain colour or human trait. When they fail and come out of 'alignment', several physical or mental illness can occur that would pertain to whichever 'chakra' no longer is in sync with the others. Using gemstones which correspond to that chakra, the alignment can be corrected. A healthy chakra is able to attract or release energy as needed.
Root Chakra: Red with the base (root) it is located at the base of the spine. It can also be black or brown
Navel Chakra: Orange with the sacral, it is located in the area bounded by the spleen and sexual center
Solar Plexus Chakra: Yellow in colour, located just below the navel.
Heart Chakra: Green or pink in colour, located in the center of the chest.
Throat Chakra: Light blue in colour, located in the center of the throat.
Third Eye Chakra: Indigo colour, located between the two brows on the forehead
Crown Chakra: Violet or white in colour, located on the top of the head.

Gemstones are the stones which carry certain qualities of a particular star and the sun-rays which pass through it reach the body through the veins and each ray of the stone has its specific quality. Example Diamond is the stone for Venus, a star for wealth, luxuries, sexuality etc. When the rays pass on to the body they give positive or negative effect on some items mentioned above. Any positivity or negativity of gemstone depends on the particular star placed in the horoscope and the period it is passing through. Hence do not wear any gemsone merely on the basis of sun sign alone.

Sounds like a "charm"

Charms
The verbal version of a charm is a short verse or expression offered to confer protection or a wish. “Gesundheit!” (“Good health!”) is a simple form, often said in response to a sneeze, a moment when a demon is said to be able to enter one's body through the nose. Also, “Good luck!” or “Bless you!” are common informal charms. In ancient Greece, the words aski, kataski, and tetrax were charm words used to ward off enchantments. A more involved, formalized charm might be termed a prayer.
As a material thing, a charm can be any sort of an object; a substance such as herbs or medicines contained in a bottle, bag, or vial; beads; medallions; or an amulet (an amulet being more specifically designed to ward off spiritual evil). A crucifix or a bit of hair in a locket, an ankh, or any number of Buddhist symbols represent commonly used charms. In the Buddhist religion, the use of an amulet is pretty well universal.
An amulet (the word derives from the Arabic for “to carry”) is usually an inscribed charm of metal, stone, clay, wood, or bone, worn about the neck or otherwise carried on the person. A “hag-stone” (called a “mare-stone” in Scotland) is a bored stone worn to avert nightmares. The amulet can also be in the form of a gem, colored threads, a ring, a key, or a knot.
Some amulets are designed to protect only on certain days, their potency being determined by astrological means. Some are merely scraps of paper with magic symbols written on them; they are crumpled up and swallowed. Amulets obtained or made at a crossroads or a burial ground are supposed to be particularly effective.
There is a Yemenite charm against mice. You have the imam write the name of the prophet or some text from the Koran on a piece of parchment, have him say some powerful prayers over it, roll the piece of parchment up very tightly, wrap it and attach it to the collar of a cat. No guarantees.
Roman sorcerers prepared amulets specifically designed to prevent or cure diseases of the eye, headaches, toothache, tumors, fevers, epilepsy, or poisonous bites. In Hindu mythology there is a powerful stone which is made into an amulet called Salagrama. Its powers are almost unlimited.
In the Middle Ages, Carmelite monks were permitted to sell “conception-billets,” which are bits of consecrated paper to be placed at thresholds, attached to domestic articles, or simply swallowed to offer protection against theft or disease. Placed into a child's cradle, such a billet is believed to guard against the child being stolen by a witch; we don't know of any children so protected who have been reported as stolen by a witch.
Feathers from the wings of the angel Gabriel were sold as charms by medieval monks to fend off the plague. No record exists of a customer asking a monk how he obtained the feathers.

Its yet another concept in the ornamentation. That is all. There may be a lot of 'gemology' weaved around it, but till date all that does not stand the touch stone of'scientific base'. Its , as another friend said, a faith, myth if not trash. But one thing is sure that pseudo science flourishes instantly than the actual science. Topping all this my inference is that this is nothing but a 'business' en-cashed on 'faith' and 'occult'.
