The above answer is slightly incorrect. The island of Borneo is split between 3 countries.

Most of the island is part of Indonesia - the provinces of East, West and Central Kalminatan, most of the north is part of Malaysia (the provinces of Sarawak and Sabah), and a small portion in the North East is the Kingdom of Brunei.

The equator runs through the Indonesian portion of the island.
