My car is making a whistling sound when I accelorate and when idoling I noticed a tick tick tick... repetitive sound in the engine. What could it be??? The car is a 1994 Ford Telstar (Automatic).

The whistling is air related, check your air cleaner intake system and exhaust system for the problem. The ticking could be anything making noise due to low oil level, check and change your oil.

The whistling is air related like from the your previous answers which means a possible vaccum leak. The ticking soud could be in the valvetrain/lifters due to low oil pressure or the are just sticking. I have a trick to try with the ticking put some ford type f fluid or equal to your oil and see if that may help.
